Those are undisputed and the most

reliable actual global surface temperature measurements taken over the last three decades. The denier industry picks and chooses the smaller anomalies to pretend there is scientific doubt about warming and climate change, but as you can see, there is no doubt that the planet is warming.
A more detailed chart, and a thorough explanation is available at a great site - by climate scientists - called
realclimate.org
And this particular info is discussed on the posting there at:
http://www.realclimate.org/ind...
we talk and once there are enough of us doing that, we get action.
It's too bad politics are just about doing the right thing, instead of answering to the squeekiest wheels.

We need to see action. It's always just talk. It's part of the job.

Paranoia and Beliefs

"The 9-11 conspiracy theorists are not ready to give up their fight and the birthers will never let that issue die."

And the climate deniers and moon landing skeptics are dug in on their positions too. It's about beliefs - how does one hope to overcome clung-to beliefs with only facts?

"NOTHING being accepted at face value" can be a good thing,

but not if that is a result of paranoia.
You are absolutely correct, I have seen it. Paranoia and distrust is on the rise in the U.S. Hatefulness is on the rise.
It seems to me that it is fueled by the traditional media - fear-mongering in search of ratings, or in support of an ideology.
I guess all we can do is try to spread as much factual information as possible

if we could see our true selves
...would there still be starvation or war? Humanity against itself is born of not recognizing ourselves or others. But, we can continue to teach each other about each other. That may be our slow road to the world we could have.

Power of art

This is a fantastic artist.
What is it about her simple art that 'gets' to us? Is it because it's so naive? Or because her transitions are so unexpected?
What is it about representative art that does what words cannot? You 'd think words could touch people, but they rarely do. Probably because we rarely mean what we say.
Thanks for posting this wonderful video.
